In the Turkestan region, primary school students are fully provided with one-time hot meals. In total, 220,920 students receive free meals in the region in 2024. This was announced by the head of the Department of sanitary and epidemiological control of Turkestan region Nurbek Nyshanov at a briefing with media representatives.
"In total, there are 1,062 schools and 21 boarding schools in the Turkestan region. Of these, 829 are provided with school canteens, 37 are provided with buffets, and 56 are provided with catering services. In September of this year, 460 students of School No. 8 in the village of Beshoky in Mangistau region were poisoned with food. In connection with this situation, on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, monitoring work was carried out in accordance with the checklist for all supervised school canteens. As a result, since September, monitoring of all school canteens in the region has been carried out," the head of the Department said.
According to the speaker, the main requirements for school canteens are mandatory for the presence of a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion of the food unit. In addition, the organization of students ' drinking water regime and the suitability of food products are also important.
