Deputy akim of Turkestan region Nurbol Turashbekov, together with the heads of responsible Industries, worked out the preparation for spring field work and analyzed the plan for the development of cotton farming.
During the meeting, head of the Regional Department of Agriculture Nurbek Badyrakov made a report, noting that it is planned to increase the sowing structure by 28 thousand hectares, as a result of which 897 thousand hectares will be used for sowing in the region. According to the head of the department, in 2025 the share of forage crops will decrease, but Cotton will be increased by 40 thousand hectares. Of these, 58.7 thousand hectares of cotton are expected to be customized with the latest technology. Work has begun in the region to provide cotton with high-quality seeds. Currently, 1577 tons of seeds are ready. In total, 4845 tons of cotton seeds will be produced from 6 selected varieties.
During the meeting, the issue of creating machine and tractor stations for farms in cotton districts was also touched upon. They discussed the development of cotton farming in zhetysai, Maktaaral, Shardara districts and the modernization of equipment necessary for obtaining high-quality products.
The deputy akim of the region warned that farmers should be provided with favorable conditions for the purchase of equipment. In addition, the responsible department was instructed to conduct extensive awareness-raising and explanatory measures.
The report on the work done on the introduction of water-saving technologies in the districts was heard. Deputy akim of zhetysay district Turysbek Yelshibayev said that this year 226 farms have harvested 2810 hectares with drip irrigation. In 2025, it is planned to introduce water-saving technologies on 12 thousand hectares. Maktaaral district also follows this milestone. In shardara district, a list of farmers who have chosen to work with new technologies has been formed and explanatory work is being carried out.
