The tourism potential of the region is growing every year. This was announced by Governor of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy during a press conference at the site of the Central Communications Service.
Three main directions in the field of tourism have been identified in the region: historical and educational, environmental and health tourism.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 400 thousand tourists have visited the region. 124 thousand people visited nature reserves, 135 thousand - resorts, 210 thousand people lived in hotels. 810 thousand people visited historical pilgrimage sites. According to E-qonaq, 19 thousand foreign tourists visited the region in 10 months of this year.
63 billion tenge of investments have been attracted to the tourism sector since the beginning of the year. Major projects are being launched to provide additional tourism products and new programs. For example, in the city of Turkestan, a city of artisans and a racetrack on 99 hectares are being built on 2.5 hectares.
Every year, the number of health and wellness organizations in the settlements is growing. In the period from 2023 to 2025, six medical and health facilities are being built with a total cost of 7.5 billion tenge.
