A meeting of the deputy group "Bir el – bir mudde" was held in Astana, dedicated to issues of state support for ethnojournalism and Kazakh-language media abroad. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The discussion was attended by deputies of the Senate and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of ethnic media and the NGO "Otandastar Foundation".
The speakers noted the importance of ethnojournalism as a tool for the formation of civic values and strengthening national unity. They also discussed ways to promote ethnopolitics through the media, support Kazakh-language media abroad, as well as measures to ensure interethnic harmony.
Special attention was paid to the issues of preventing risks to interethnic stability, countering the "language of hostility" in social networks and preventing discrimination on ethnic and linguistic grounds.
