Law and order: a campaign against domestic violence is taking place in Astana

The campaign "16 days of active actions against violence" has started in the capital, aimed at eliminating domestic violence and supporting children's rights, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
So, in the capital's Support Center for Women and Children "Korgau Astana" they said that since the beginning of the year, almost 300 women who suffered from domestic violence have received psychological and legal assistance. Also, 238 people were sheltered in the center, including 78 women and 160 minor children.
The main purpose of the center is to help victims of domestic violence, victims of human trafficking and people in difficult life situations in re—socialization. The victims live free of charge in the crisis center for up to 6 months, receive meals, counseling from psychologists and lawyers.
The center's specialists accompany the victims during the trials and take part in protecting their interests.
"We also help with the registration and restoration of identity documents. If necessary, we provide support to citizens of other countries to return to their homeland," said Anna Ryl, head of the Korgau Astana Women and Children Support Center.
In addition, the center conducts trainings on the prevention of domestic violence in various institutions.
