An expanded staff meeting of the Ministry was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry, as well as heads of regional sports departments and subordinate organizations.
During the meeting, the report of the monitoring working group established to determine the state and development of sports in the regions was heard. A number of problems were identified during the monitoring. In particular, it was noted that when selecting athletes to participate in competitions, due attention is not paid to priority sports for the region, and there is also an inequality in the distribution of funding between Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
In addition, there was an imbalance in the training of the sports reserve and the development of sports, the lack of a unified system for admitting children and adolescents to sports institutions, as well as a shortage of medical staff in sports and recreation organizations and federations.
"It is necessary to improve the sports infrastructure in the regions, solve the problems of personnel shortage and financing. It is also important to work out the issue of rotation of heads of sports departments and subordinate organizations who have been working in their positions for a long time, by making them interchangeable. The problems of allocating funds for sports not included in the official register and inefficient use of financial resources should be under constant control. In addition, it is necessary to streamline the collection and control of statistical data on sports facilities and regions. To implement reforms and new initiatives in the field of sports, it is extremely important to establish close cooperation with all parties," said Erbol Myrzabosynov.
Following the meeting, the regional offices were given specific instructions. The need to strengthen system control and monitoring in the field of regional sports was emphasized. Comprehensive measures will be taken in each region to modernize sports infrastructure, address personnel issues and increase children's involvement in sports.
