The parties are interested in strengthening Kazakh-Latvian trade and economic cooperation
03.09.2026 19:20:48 240On September 2, 2026, Ambassador Dauren Karipov of Kazakhstan met with Latvian Minister of Agriculture Uldis Augulis in Riga.
They discussed current issues in Kazakh-Latvian relations, including trade, economics, investments, and agriculture, as well as the implementation of the protocol from the 9th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the 4.2% increase in trade between their countries, which reached $85.5 million in the first half of 2026.
During the discussion, it was noted that the most promising areas for Kazakh-Latvian joint ventures are dairy and beef farming, food production, fishing, food storage and transportation, logistics hub development, innovative technology introduction, and agricultural science advancement.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral partnership further and expanding their contacts in all the discussed areas.
