Almaty is strengthening its position as one of the country's leading tourist centers. According to the results of the third quarter of 2024, 366 accommodation facilities operated in the city, the number of rooms amounted to 11.4 thousand. The capacity of one-time admission exceeded 22.3 thousand places, and the volume of services provided increased by 27.6% and reached 70.2 billion tenge. In addition, tax revenues from hotel services doubled in January-November 2024 and reached 9.8 billion tenge.
This year, thanks to private investments, 35 new accommodation facilities have been created in Almaty, including 20 hotels, 4 glamping sites, 8 hostels and 3 mini-hotels. A total of 836 rooms have been commissioned.
In addition, new accommodation formats have appeared in the city, such as glamping and hostels. Among the new solutions are capsule hotels that offer small and modern living conditions. Various accommodation formats are also being introduced, taking into account the different needs of tourists.
Currently, 30 new hotel construction projects are under control. The total investment volume is about 336.3 billion tenge. It is planned to build 4,415 rooms as part of these projects.:
7 facilities under the number 1,125 are under construction (68.3 billion tenge);
There are 23 facilities with the number 3,290 (268 billion tenge) at the design stage.
Investors are interested in building a hotel, paying special attention to the development of hotel infrastructure rather than housing. This is due to the growing tourist potential of Almaty and the need to increase the number of rooms for comfortable accommodation of guests of the city.
The implementation of the entire project is planned for 2027. This will significantly increase the number of rooms in the city, improve the quality and comfort of tourist services. Due to the development of the infrastructure, Almaty will continue to attract tourists and strengthen its position as an international Hospitality Center.
