In 2024, 18 educational facilities were built in Almaty, which provided 11.7 thousand student places. Thanks to these measures, by the next academic year, the deficit will be reduced to a "manageable" level – 3-4 thousand places. This was reported in the city Department of education.
The introduction of the "Almaty Schools" standard has become an important part of the development of education. As part of this project, transportation of public school students has been organized. In 2024, the number of school buses will be increased to 200 units, which will cover 15.3 thousand schoolchildren. In 2025, the number of buses on behalf of Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev will be increased by another 100 units, which will provide even more students with safe and convenient transportation to educational institutions.
Earlier it was noted that buses will start running as soon as applications are received from schools where children living in remote and hard-to-reach areas study. This is one of the priorities according to which school buses are allocated. Detailed itineraries have been developed for each school to ensure the transportation of students.
