Over the past two years, 19.2 million US dollars (9.9 billion tenge) of investments in the development of the IT ecosystem have been attracted in Almaty. This was reported by the city's digitalization department.
On behalf of Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev, a three-year project "Development of the Almaty IT Ecosystem 2022-2024" is being implemented in the metropolis, aimed at developing the IT ecosystem and supporting startups in key areas, including smart cities, artificial intelligence, big data and sustainable development.
More than 7 thousand participants took part in MOST events. The total amount of attracted investments amounted to 19.2 million US dollars, and the total income of startups reached 5.37 billion tenge. The project has created 2,049 jobs.
Acceleration and incubation programs have been successfully completed by 309 startups, of which 16 have already confirmed sales in international markets. During the implementation of the project, 1,189 IT specialists and 101 business angels were trained.
In addition, 55 specialists have been trained under the Digital Urban Planner, Smart City Engineer program.
