128 sites for the disposal of solid household waste (MSW) have been identified in the region, of which 65% do not meet sanitary requirements. In this regard, the action plan for 2024-2026 has been approved. As part of the plan, design and estimate documentation (PSA) has been developed for 16 landfills, which have received a positive conclusion from the state expertise. This year, construction works have been carried out on the territory of 3 landfills in the Sozak district. The share of waste recycling reached the planned 26%.
In addition, the regional Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, within the framework of the environmental protection program, conducted activities on environmental education and education among young people. In the framework of actions such as "Sorting waste", "Take care of nature", "Take care of the environment", teenagers were taught environmental values.
To preserve the ecosystem of the region's water rivers, prevent illegal extraction of sand and stone, and maintain cleanliness, work has been carried out to increase the size of water protection zones and strips. Instead of the existing boundaries of 35 meters, new dimensions from 100 to 500 meters have been set. Water protection zones and strips were identified for 150 rivers, 31 reservoirs and 2 natural lakes (183 water bodies in total).
In the process of conducting the state environmental assessment, 443 public hearings were organized. As a result of the hearings, projects that do not have a harmful impact on the environment receive the support of local residents.
