At the next meeting of the commission under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the appointment of heads of regional sports departments, candidates for the position of head of the Almaty City Sports Department were considered.

Darkhan Nurkhanovich, Deputy head of the office of the Akim of Almaty, Bekzhan Nurlanovich Onzhan, Deputy head of the Almaty City Sports Department, and Nurbakyt Tenizbayev, a prize-winner of the Beijing Olympics, akim of the Kegeni district of the Almaty region, were nominated for discussion by the commission. The members of the commission discussed in detail the professional experience of each candidate, their vision of the prospects for the development of sports in the region, as well as their qualifications in the field of sports management.

It should be recalled that candidates are nominated by local executive bodies, but the appointment is carried out only if there is a positive conclusion from the commission established under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
