The regional quota for the admission of refugees and displaced persons for 2025 has been approved

By order of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the regional quota for the admission of refugees and displaced persons for 2025 is set at 9,653 people, which is 170 more than last year.
The purpose of the adoption of this order is the optimal resettlement of the Kandas and displaced persons in the regions determined by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2025, the regional quota is distributed as follows:
for kandas: Pavlodar region – 1,056 people, Akmola region – 285 people, East Kazakhstan region – 269 people, Abai region – 244 people, North Kazakhstan region – 175 people, Kostanay region – 150 people, Atyrau region – 100 people, West Kazakhstan region – 30 people.;
for displaced persons: Pavlodar region – 3,050 people, North Kazakhstan region – 2,969 people, Kostanay region – 535 people, East Kazakhstan region – 372 people, Abai region – 255 people, Ulytau region – 125 people, Karaganda region – 38 people.
Persons included in the regional quota for the admission of refugees and displaced persons will be provided with state support measures in the form of:
- relocation subsidies – a one-time payment of 70 MCI to each family member;
- subsidies to cover the costs of renting (renting) housing and paying for utilities, which are paid monthly in the amount of 15 to 30 MCI per family;
- subsidies for employers providing assistance in resettlement in the amount of 400 MCI.
- referrals for short-term professional training;
- assistance in finding employment or in developing an entrepreneurial initiative;
- issuance of certificates of economic mobility for the purchase of housing.
In 2024, more than 19.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland and received the status of Kandas.
In total, from 1991 to January 1, 2025, 1 million 148 thousand ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland.
