Development of human resources in industry and construction in Kazakhstan

More than 39 thousand people – this is the need for personnel in the sectors supervised by the Ministry of Industry and Construction. These data were announced by Minister Kanat Sharlapayev at a Government meeting.
According to him, the greatest shortage is observed in construction and water supply (more than 17 thousand specialists are required), as well as in the manufacturing industry (6.8 thousand), metallurgy and mining (4.6 thousand).
To address this issue, 75 new professions have been included in the Atlas of New Professions. For example, an operator of robotic mining equipment, a specialist in virtual prototyping and a designer of a Smart Home. More than 40 professions have been transformed in the process of automating business processes.
This year, within the framework of 190 projects of the industrialization map, 8 new professions will appear in mechanical engineering: an engineer for 3D printing and welding, an operator of robotic paint systems, and others. They will work on key production projects in Almaty and Kostanay.
Work is underway to develop and update 60 professional standards using artificial intelligence technologies in eight industries covering 336 professions.
In the field of industry, staff training using dual education is conducted in 284 colleges, more than 700 enterprises are involved. More than 30 educational programs are being implemented within the framework of agreements and memoranda with them. More than 13,000 young professionals are provided with permanent jobs every year.
In order to popularize the specialty of a geologist, a public foundation "Zhas Geologist" was created, and the status of the award was revised from departmental to state-owned "Enbek sirgen geologist". Work is also underway in the construction industry.
Since 2019, Otbasy Bank has been implementing a corporate program to provide workers with affordable housing. Over the past 2 years, 122 employees of enterprises have received keys. To reduce the outflow of personnel from the village, the costs of employers who have built housing for their employees are subsidized. In addition, more than 400 specialists have completed advanced training courses at the Association of Developers of Kazakhstan and BI University. Last year, 108 winners of the WorldSkills Kazakhstan championship received job offers from the country's leading companies.
