JOLTAP project: Metropolitan residents can learn basic digital skills for free
13.01.2025 19:18:48 1567The JOLTAP project continues in the capital, which provides unemployed residents of the city with the opportunity to find work and improve their financial situation, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
As part of the social project, more than 9,000 residents of the capital have already improved their skills and found work. The training programs have been developed taking into account the demands of the labor market. For example, you can learn basic digital skills for free as part of the project.
Having mastered these skills, participants learn how to work on a computer and install software. It is important to note that in the modern labor market, knowledge of digital skills is essential.
Dias Mahatov, a teacher of the Basic Digital Skills course within the JOLTAP project, noted that people's interest in this field is growing every year.
"Since April 2024, I have been teaching classes as part of the JOLTAP project. During this time, I taught classes in English, mathematics, and digital literacy. Today, I'm teaching participants digital skills. In general, the interest of Astana residents in digital literacy is high," the teacher said.
During the five-day Basic Digital Skills course, participants learn how to work on a computer. The training includes the use of Microsoft Office and the methods of installing the necessary software. Dias Makhatov stressed that the course pays great attention to practice.
"A classroom equipped with everything necessary to teach digital skills has all the necessary tools. First we explain the theory, and then we pay attention to practical tasks. Each student works on a separate computer. In this way, they learn skills that can be useful in everyday life and at work," he says.
To date, Dias Makhatov has trained about 330 Astana residents on this course.
"Each of them has acquired practical skills necessary in the digital world. Now they are able to work effectively on a computer and use office software," said the teacher.
It should be noted that JOLTAP short-term training programs are available for Astana residents aged 18 to 50 years. At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate. Graduate candidates will be posted free of charge on the Telegram bot JUMYS TAP.
