Development of electronic commerce will increase tax revenues by 2 times — Digital Kazakhstan Association

Denis Stepantsev, Chairman of the Council of the Digital Kazakhstan Association, announced proposals for the development of electronic commerce in Kazakhstan at a Government meeting.
In particular, he proposed the following measures::
Simplification of the import of goods for SMEs:
Reduction of the total rate to 15-22%.
Simplification of customs procedures:
Complete digitalization of the certification process and simplification of customs document management.
Reducing the time required to process goods.
Integration of local marketplaces with customs systems:
Automating processes to speed up and reduce the cost of trading.
The introduction of mandatory certification of goods purchased on foreign sites:
This will ensure product quality and reduce risks for consumers.
The imposition of duties on goods purchased on foreign platforms:
This step will create equal conditions for domestic business and foreign competitors.
The speaker added that these measures will increase tax revenues by 2 times to 626 billion tenge by 2025, create 500,000 jobs over four years, and improve market transparency.
