An accumulation of juvenile fish has been revealed at the Baksai water canal in Atyrau region.

On January 15, 2025, more than 1.8 million juvenile fish were rescued.
Live juveniles are released into the Zhaiyk River, located 55 km from this canal. 60 people are taking part in the rescue. Among them are representatives of the akimat, military personnel, volunteers, fishing industry entities, 12 pieces of equipment are involved.
During the rescue, the fish was in a semi-drowsy state due to the low dissolved oxygen content in the water caused by icing of the channel. When fish are released into the Zhaiyk River, their recovery and activation are observed.
At the same time, work is underway to collect dead juveniles.
The situation has been taken under special control.
