Uyghur district continues to develop tourism, in the first nine months of 2024, 91,481 people rested in hotels and other accommodation facilities of the district, which is 24% of the total number of tourists of the region. Revenue from placement services exceeded 1 billion tenge.
There are 84 tourist facilities in the Uyghur district, among which there are comfortable recreation areas for relaxing in nature, one-story bungalows, rural houses.
The main factor that attracts tourists is hot water springs. Health-promoting procedures are recommended here. Geothermal waters are known for their healing properties, and well-developed infrastructure, swimming pools and food outlets provide a high level of comfort. 700 people work in recreation areas on a permanent basis, not counting seasonal employees.
Charyn Gorge remains one of the main attractions of the region and attracts thousands of tourists, including foreign visitors.
"Our region is rich in natural resources and offers very favorable conditions for recreation. We are actively developing infrastructure and trying to attract tourists," said Kuanyshbek Mirambekovich, head of the Tourism Department of Almaty region.
