A solemn awarding ceremony dedicated to Sports Day was held in the Samar district. About 40 athletes, young people, residents of the region and veterans of sports, were awarded letters of thanks and diplomas on behalf of the leadership of the region and the district, as well as the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of East Kazakhstan region.

Akim of Samar district Serik Zhenisov congratulated all participants of the event. In his speech, he noted that in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev, special attention is being paid to the development of mass and professional sports in the country, as well as the creation of conditions for sports for the younger generation.

"Sport is not only the key to the health of the nation, but also an important direction that instills discipline, perseverance and the desire to win in young people," the mayor emphasized.

According to Serik Zhenisov, with the support of the regional leadership, a lot of work is being done in the district to develop sports infrastructure and create conditions for physical education and sports.

"Now you can see for yourself that over the past year several sports facilities and new playgrounds have been opened in our district. Our main task is to increase their number and create the necessary conditions for sports. And we will continue to work on this," said the akim of the district.

According to the Samar District Sports Department, about 300 people regularly practice various sports today. More than 15 sports areas are developing in the district, including volleyball, football, Kazakh kuresi, kokpar, audarispak, asyk ata, togyzkumalak, basketball, table tennis, chess, checkers, arm wrestling, kettlebell lifting, workout and others.

Equestrian sports occupy a separate place. About 15 people participate in the baiga, and athletes have about 35 horses at their disposal. About 20 veterans of sports in the district continue to actively participate in sports life and pass on their experience to the younger generation.

The sports infrastructure in the district has been significantly updated over the past year. In the village of Samarskoye, a sports school building has been restored after a fire and put into operation. There is also a swimming pool in the village of Samarskoye.

The construction of a sports complex based on the Ybyrai mektebi school has been completed in the village of Kulynjon, and a modern sports hall equipped with the necessary equipment and simulators has been opened in the village of Zhumba. Gyms are also available in Kulynjon and Akkala. Workout grounds and mini-football fields are equipped in the settlements of the district.

Hockey is actively developing among schoolchildren in winter. The consistent renovation of the sports infrastructure and the support of various sports areas create additional opportunities for physical education, the involvement of district residents in sports and the training of new athletes.
