Imanali Koksal, a 17-year-old student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School, received a free scholarship to study at the University of Pennsylvania. This was due to her academic success and passion for robotics, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Imanali's interest in robotics began in the 7th grade. And her participation in the international First Global Challenge (FGC) competition only intensified her passion.
"In addition to being an engineer at the FGC 2023 in Singapore, I was a driver and controlled a robot during matches. This requires stress resistance. We performed at the competition among 194 countries and took first place. We showed that this is the result of the team's unity, perseverance and hard work," said Imanali.
At the same time, the Kazakh national team became the world champion in robotics for the second time. The talented student is also actively involved in developing innovative projects. For example, he created a smart watch for the hearing impaired.
“This watch alerts hearing impaired people to suspicious or dangerous sounds through vibration. I am proud to have created technology that will improve the lives of people in need,” says the 17-year-old champion.
Imanali wants to contribute to the development of Kazakhstan’s technology and economy in the future. That is why he chose the University of Pennsylvania.
“I chose this university because the Wharton School of Business is ranked first in the world. The university not only provides education, but also develops the social life of students, which is very important to me. I plan to return to my country to use the knowledge I have gained to develop my country. I hope that my story will inspire young people to pursue their dreams and never give up,” the student concluded.
