Organizations for the operation and management of hydraulic structures have been established in 9 regions of Kazakhstan. Thus, the total number of specialized organizations in the country has reached 15.
IMPORTANT: Today, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation is working to improve the regulatory framework to regulate the functions, tasks and powers of the newly created organizations.

Two large reservoirs in western Kazakhstan have been repaired for the first time in many years. The Aktobe reservoir has undergone a comprehensive reconstruction for the first time in 36 years. And the Kirov reservoir in West Kazakhstan region has been repaired for the first time in 58 years.
About 400 dams with a total length of 584 kilometers have been repaired in 16 regions of Kazakhstan. In addition, construction, reconstruction and restoration of protective dams and hydraulic structures are being carried out in 84 settlements in 6 regions. This will ensure the safety of 359 thousand people.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation inspected 1,502 hydraulic structures as part of flood preparedness. In addition, a multi-factor study of 105 hydraulic structures is being conducted.
Kazakhstan and Russia have reached an agreement on the exchange of information during the flood period. Today, the composition, rules of the working group and the work plan for 2025 have been approved.
Japanese experts inspected 13 hydraulic structures in 4 regions of Kazakhstan. Foreign specialists examined facilities in Akmola, Karaganda, Aktobe and West Kazakhstan regions that received a very large amount of water during the flood.
2 systems for flood forecasting and modeling are being developed in Kazakhstan. The "Tasqyn" system allows you to obtain long-term forecasts for the flood period for 135 rivers. As part of the memorandum between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Netherlands Institute for Water Education, the Talsim flood forecasting system, integrated into the Dutch Delft-Fews platform, is being implemented.
