Currently, the packaging industry is one of the main directions that form the infrastructure of a market economy. The development of this industry is closely related to the growth of raw material production in mechanical engineering, food and chemical industries, trade, transport and other sectors.
In order to provide the Kazakhstani market with a sufficient volume of packaging products, it is planned to implement several projects with a total investment of more than 90 billion tenge in the next two years. According to the Directorate for Monitoring and Analysis of Project Implementation of the Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center "QazIndustry", this will create about 1,500 jobs.
In particular, it is planned to launch five production facilities for the production of cardboard packaging of various shapes and sizes with a total area of ​​37 million square meters.
Three enterprises will start producing 315 million pieces of paper and polypropylene bags per year.
In addition, it is planned to launch the production of thermoforming, polyethylene and stretch film with a total weight of 4.9 thousand tons.
It is expected that an enterprise with an annual production capacity of 2 billion aluminum cans and lids will be launched.
Two projects are being implemented to produce 240 million polypropylene cups for dairy products and 324 million Pure-Pak packaging for liquid products. For enterprises in this direction, it is planned to launch the production of paints for flexible packaging with a capacity of 5,400 tons per year.
In addition, it is planned to produce 5 million egg cartons per year. An enterprise will be launched to produce 220 million bottles per year for the production of glass containers.
Two new enterprises will produce more than 150 thousand tons of packages.
In the field of plastic packaging, it is planned to produce 1.2 million bottles, canisters, trigger containers, jars and other polyethylene packaging annually.
When the above-mentioned enterprises reach their full design capacity, the volume of production will amount to about 100 billion tenge in financial terms. A quarter of it is planned to be exported.
It should be noted that previously projects were implemented to produce corrugated paper packaging, big bags, thermo-shrink and stretch film, stone paper packaging, and polyethylene bags.
Thus, the packaging materials industry in Kazakhstan is developing along with the production of consumer goods, which allows the consumer to receive high-quality packaging of domestic products and deliver the goods on time.
To attract investments to the industry, support is provided at the republican and local levels in the form of investment preferences, preferential lending conditions, and tax breaks within the framework of special economic zones.
