Doctors from the Turkestan Regional Children's Hospital performed a complex stomach surgery on a 6-year-old girl. The patient, who had a very large foreign object in her stomach, was urgently transported by ambulance from the city of Turkestan to the reception department of the Regional Children's Hospital. At that time, a foreign object was detected in the stomach by performing an EFGDS procedure, and a complex surgery was performed. During the surgery, doctors removed a handful of hair that had become stuck in the child's stomach. The hair that came out of the stomach weighed about one kilogram. The surgery was successful, and the patient was transferred to the ward a day later. After about a week of treatment in the hospital, the girl's condition improved and she was discharged home.
According to her mother, the child had been ill for 1 month. She complained of pain in the stomach area, weakness, lack of appetite, and weight loss.
"The surgery lasted an hour. The surgery was very successful. Usually, such cases occur when the child is left unattended. Small children put various objects in their mouths, and as a result, harmful substances accumulate in the stomach. "Since this situation is dangerous for the child's life, we warn parents not to leave their children unattended. Surgical care at the Turkestan Regional Children's Hospital is provided within the framework of free guaranteed medical care," said Mukagali Temirbekov, a pediatric surgeon at the Regional Children's Hospital.
