A Pavlodar resident's health deteriorated sharply on the plane returning from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, and he developed an allergic reaction. He took an anti-flu drug and fell asleep. An hour later, he woke up with his face and mouth swollen.
The flight attendant informed the passengers on the plane that a doctor was urgently needed. Zhannur Syrymov, a doctor from the Zhetysu region who was on the plane at that time, immediately began providing first aid to the patient.
According to passenger Murat Imangazinov, at that time they were flying over the Kap Mountains.
"The crew decided that in case of an emergency, they would land the plane at one of the nearby airports. But Zhannur Maulenuly, saying that he was a professional in his field, delivered the plane safely. I would like to express my immense gratitude to the wonderful person who intervened in my life,” says Murat Imangazinov.
Zhannur Syrymov currently works as the chief physician of the Koksu district hospital in Zhetysu region. During that trip, he was returning from a trip to Mecca, where he took his disabled father on a pilgrimage.
“I never thought that I would provide medical assistance to a patient in an airplane. Since I always treated my father, I always kept a medicine box with me. After the flight attendant reported it, I immediately went to the sick man and saw that his eyes and face were swelling. In medical terms, this is called “Quincke’s edema.” If a person is not provided with medical assistance within 15-20 minutes, he may die. I immediately injected him with the drugs “Allergopress” and “Prednisolone”. Then I measured his blood pressure and put a tablet under his tongue. "I have also started building a system," said Zhannur Syrymov.

Zhannur Maulenovich began his career in the medical field as a sanitary paramedic. Before his work in the Koksu district, he worked as the head of the kidney transplantology, urology and extracorporeal detoxification department at the Syzganov National Scientific Surgery Center in Almaty, and as the deputy head of the hospital in Taldykorgan.
