World Cancer Day, celebrated annually on February 4, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of the disease, supporting patients and promoting preventive measures. This day plays a crucial role in uniting the efforts of the global community to combat one of the most common causes of death in the world.
According to WHO, cancer claims millions of lives every year and remains one of the leading causes of death. However, experts estimate that about half of cases can be prevented through timely prevention, early diagnosis and effective treatment.
In this regard, the National Scientific Oncology Center invites you to an Open Day on February 8 for the media and their families, where you and your adult family members can receive free consultations and receive expert advice from our specialists - oncomammmologists, onco-surgeons, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, diagnosticians, etc. b., can undergo examination.
On the same day, a briefing will be held for media representatives, where doctors, leading experts and WHO representatives will be able to answer the following questions:
- the current situation in the provision of oncological care in Kazakhstan, statistical data on the structure of morbidity and mortality from malignant pathologies;
- prevention, controllable and uncontrollable risk factors;
- the importance of early detection of oncopathology, the reason for patients' appeals in advanced cases;
- modern methods of diagnosing and treating cancer, including those available at the National Cancer Institute;
- achievements and new technologies of the National Cancer Institute.
The main goal of this event is to dispel the misconception that cancer is an incurable disease. Modern medical technologies allow for successful treatment when detected early. It is important to convey to society that prevention is a powerful weapon in the fight against the disease.
World Cancer Day reminds us that each of us can contribute to the fight against this disease. Combining the efforts of the medical community and the media will make the fight against cancer more effective and accessible to everyone, thus making an invaluable contribution to preserving the health of every Kazakhstani.
