A solo exhibition of artist Veniamin Shamshin will open in Karaganda. The exhibition will feature paintings from his wife's personal collection.
Veniamin Shamshin is an artist who has lived in Karaganda since the 1950s. He painted in the genre of socialist realism. His portfolio includes compositions, portraits, and everyday subjects.
Of these, the organizers of the exhibition consider the usual portraits of his contemporaries to be the most interesting.
- Organizing a large solo exhibition of Veniamin Shamshin was his wife's dream. During his lifetime, he was very active, his exhibitions were often organized, but after his death in 2004, there were no large-scale exhibitions. We met with the artist's widow and looked at the works before the exhibition. Of course, they are all highly appreciated, - said Bibigul Ispolova, the head of the "Golden Age" gallery, where the exhibition will be held.
For a professional viewer, Veniamin Shamshin's works will be an excellent educational material on portrait art. For others, this exhibition is an opportunity to broaden their understanding of classical fine arts.
The exhibition will be held from February 1 to 13 at the Golden Age Gallery, 35a Komissarov Street. Admission is free.
