THE NUMBER OF CRIMINAL OFFENSES IN TURKESTAN REGION DECREASED

A meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Crime Prevention under the Turkestan Regional Akimat was held. The meeting was chaired by the Akim of the Turkestan Region, Nuralkhan Kusherov. The agenda considered 4 issues.
The Deputy Head of the Department of Legal Statistics and Special Accounting of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Turkestan Region E. Praliev and the First Deputy Head of the Police Department of Turkestan Region B. Aitpayev reported on the level of crimes and traffic accidents in the region according to the results of 2024.
The report of the Head of the Department of State Revenues, Customs Administration of the Turkestan Region S. Malikov, Deputy Head of the Economic Investigation Department of the Turkestan Region D. Suleimenov was heard on offenses and current issues in the customs sector, while the Head of the Department of Supervision of the Execution of Sentences of the Turkestan Region Prosecutor's Office N. Myktybayev, Head of the Department of the Criminal Enforcement System of the Turkestan Region S. Zhumagulov, Head of the Department of Employment Coordination and Social Programs of the Turkestan Region A. Temirbayeva reported on the effectiveness of measures to prevent recidivism and the provision of legal social assistance to those in the probation service. At the same time, the legal order and security situation in the railway sector were also discussed. The proposals of the head of the line police department at the Turkestan station D. Orynbayev were considered in this regard. The regional akim instructed to keep these issues under control and carry out appropriate work.
- It is necessary to intensify raids in districts, cities and public places with an increased crime rate, and to intensify relevant work to prevent crimes and traffic accidents. I instruct to carry out appropriate work to prevent citizens on probation from re-offending and to expedite appropriate work to provide full employment to citizens on probation, - said Nuralkhan Kusherov, instructing those responsible to promptly complete the reconstruction of the "Atameken", "Kaplanbek", "Kazygurt" customs posts and to carry out high-quality work on the complete modernization of the "Zhibek Zholy" customs post.
In addition, the issues of preventing the disorderly gathering of people and vehicles at customs posts, strict control over the declaration of imported goods, making proposals to increase the volume of international cargo turnover, and strictly ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo at customs posts and checkpoints were also raised, and appropriate instructions were given.
It should be noted that in 2024, the number of criminal offenses in the Turkestan region decreased by 3.5% (from 5,453 to 5,262). Systematic work will continue in the region to maintain security, develop settlements, protect citizens' rights, and provide employment to the population.
