The SOMATOM go.Sim computed tomography scanner and TrueBeam radiotherapy system were launched at the Abai region Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Center. These devices were purchased with the support of the "For the People of Kazakhstan" Public Foundation. The event was attended by Akim of Abai region Nurlan Urankhayev, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the "For the People of Kazakhstan" Public Foundation Lyazzat Shyngysbayeva, and the center's staff.
"Today's joyful event was one of the successful projects implemented jointly with the Abai region akimat. It is clear that these modern devices will have a significant impact on improving the health of the region's residents. We have been working with Abai region not only in the field of health, but also in other social areas, such as education and sports. Our partnership will continue in the future,” said Lyazzat Shyngysbayeva, Chairwoman of the Board of the Public Foundation “For the People of Kazakhstan”.
High-tech equipment will help improve the quality of diagnostics and treatment, expand the availability of modern oncological care not only for the population of our region, but also for the entire population of Kazakhstan.
“The SOMATOM go.Sim computed tomography scanner allows you to accurately plan radiation therapy by imaging tumors in detail, reducing the radiation dose while maintaining high image quality, and conducting treatment procedures taking into account the body’s natural physiological processes (breathing, heartbeat). It also speeds up the process of planning the most complex methods of radiation therapy, increasing the chances of successful treatment,” says Sayat Tanatarov, Director of the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Oncology.
The TrueBeam radiation therapy system allows you to use innovative methods of radiation that affect only malignant cells, and treat the most complex and mobile tumors thanks to dynamic control technology. In addition, it reduces the duration of sessions and increases comfort. Most importantly, it does not disrupt the quality of life of patients.
So, in the future, thanks to the new equipment, patients receiving treatment at the center will be able to accurately diagnose their diseases and seek further help from doctors.
During a working trip to the Kargaly district, the regional akim visited the central hospital and got acquainted with the additional project to accommodate the diagnostic department.
The head physician of the district hospital, Berik Zharzhanov, said that this facility will significantly improve the quality of patient care and expand diagnostic capabilities.
The hospital was built in 1955. A 54-bed hospital operates next to it. There is also a clinic that serves 150 patients per shift. 6 outpatient clinics and 9 district medical centers are attached to the hospital. The hospital staff consists of 162 people.
“Kargaly district is developing rapidly. New houses are being built here, the population is growing. The construction of a combined facility and improvement of healthcare infrastructure are important steps in this process. "We will continue to support and improve healthcare so that the residents of the district receive quality medical services," the regional akim said.
The regional head noted that the issue of financing the project to build an additional building for the hospital will be considered at the regional maslikhat session.
