Kazakhstani youth are showing great interest in professions in the energy sector, including oil and gas, nuclear and green energy. The main incentives are innovation, sustainable income and career growth.
The "City of Worker Professions" festival is being held in Astana, which has become a platform for getting acquainted with the prospects of the energy sector of Kazakhstan. The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev visited the interactive areas of the festival - "Energy Street" and "Green Energy House", organized jointly with the department and leading companies in the industry.
The festival covers all major areas, from heat and electricity to oil, gas and renewable energy sources (RES). At interactive stands, companies will demonstrate modern developments and talk about career opportunities in each industry.
"We have an important task ahead of us - to provide sustainable energy that meets the requirements of the times. This requires specialists who combine traditional approaches, knowledge with innovative thinking. It is encouraging that young people are actively interested in finding a job. They are our main strength and resource that determines the future of our industry,” said Almasadam Satkaliyev.
The “Atomic World” pavilion, which presented the achievements of four leading companies in the nuclear industry: Kazatomprom, KAES LLP, the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Nuclear Physics, was one of the most popular. Here, festival guests were able to see the entire technological chain, from uranium mining to the model of a nuclear power plant. Every day, about 1,000 young people interested in the safety of nuclear power plants and employment opportunities come to the pavilion.
According to the minister, today dozens of higher educational institutions and colleges of Kazakhstan are introducing educational programs that include new areas such as hydrogen energy, the use of nuclear industry facilities, and the development of “green” technologies. This opens up broad prospects for the professional growth of young Kazakhstanis. The development of renewable energy sources and the creation of a full-fledged nuclear cluster in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State will guarantee thousands of new high-tech jobs in the future.
On February 13, 2025, a meeting of the working group on the development of domestic value and support for domestic producers within the framework of the implementation of product sharing agreements under the Ministry of Energy was held in the walls of the Majilis of the Parliament with the participation of deputies of the Parliament.
