The Kazakhstani men's hockey team won a gold medal at the IX Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China. In the final, our compatriots defeated Japan 5:0, adding another gold to the national team's basket, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Among the team's best forwards, Roman Starchenko and Kirill Panyukov from the capital stood out - each of them scored 9 goals in the tournament and showed great marksmanship.
The guys, coached by Oleg Bolyakin, left their opponents speechless in all matches held in Harbin. In the group stage, they defeated China (6:1), Japan, Chinese Taipei and South Korea, in the quarterfinals they defeated Hong Kong, China, and in the semifinals they defeated China.
