Astana Mayor Zhenis Kasymbek wrote on his Instagram page about schools to be built in the city, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.

"One of our priority tasks is the development of social infrastructure. These are the construction of educational institutions, medical institutions, kindergartens, student dormitories, Student Palaces, public spaces (parks, flower beds, avenues), courtyards, etc.

For example, if we talk about schools, in 2024 more than 12.5 thousand students graduated from educational institutions. At the same time, more than 28.5 thousand children went to the first grade. The number of first-graders exceeds the number of graduates by 2 times. Accordingly, the city needs to build schools every year.

During my tour of the city, I got acquainted with the construction progress of a number of schools located at the intersections of M. Tolebayev and Burabay streets, Sh. Kudayberdiyuly avenues and I. Zhansugurov streets, as well as on Egemen Kazakhstan and Imanov streets.

As you know, since the beginning of this academic year, we have built and put into operation 24 educational institutions. This is a record for the capital. These schools have allowed us to open about 66 thousand places for students in two shifts. Of the 24 educational institutions, 16 are comfortable schools. As part of the national project "Comfortable School", 24 schools will be built in a new format on the instructions of the Head of State. These comfortable schools will allow us to open about 90 thousand places for students in two shifts.

We plan to open another 15 schools in the new academic year. "We also raise private funds for the construction of educational institutions.

We also train personnel by allocating grants for the teaching profession every year. Currently, about 2,200 people are studying at universities under the city administration's grant," Zhenis Kasymbek wrote.
