During the night patrol of Astana, a large-scale raid was conducted on a hookah bar, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
During the night patrol, 12 individuals and 3 entertainment owners were fined more than 700 thousand tenge.
In the Baikonur district, in accordance with Article 441 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses, raids are continuing to prevent and suppress the consumption of tobacco products, including products containing heated tobacco, and hookahs in public catering establishments.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 49 facts of the consumption of tobacco products, including products containing heated tobacco, and hookahs in public catering establishments have been identified in the Baikonur district. Hookah smokers were fined under Article 441 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Such raids are regularly held in all districts of the city in order to prevent violations among residents and guests of the capital.
It should be noted that the resolution on the introduction of a ban on hookah smoking in public places came into force on March 14, 2013. Violators of the law will be fined in the amount of 15 MCI. For repeated violations - 20 MCI. And the owners of establishments will be fined from 20 to 60 MCI.
