Experts from the Netherlands share their experience in the water industry

Experts from the Netherlands are holding a second workshop on flood risk management in Astana. The purpose of the event is to improve the skills of specialists dealing with flood control issues.
Today, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation actively cooperates with foreign companies and institutions with extensive experience in dealing with natural disasters, including floods. In May, the Ministry signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of water resources management with the Delft Institute of Water Education (IHE Delft), which is based in the Netherlands. The memorandum also provides for the issue of professional development of Kazakhstani specialists.
"In August of this year, Dutch specialists from the Flood Risk Reduction Support Group held their first seminar in Astana. It was attended by 30 specialists from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Water Management, the Institute of Geography and Water Safety and the national company Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary," said Musilim Zhienbayev, Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
