The Department of Ecology of Atyrau region held a press tour to Atyrau Thermal Power Plant JSC, where an automated system for monitoring emissions into the environment was installed within the framework of the Taza Kazakhstan program. The implementation of this system is a legal requirement for enterprises with a certain annual volume of emissions. This is reported by the Regional Communications Service.
Today, 91 enterprises have been identified in the country that are subject to the installation of the IIA system. Five of them are located in Atyrau region. These are Tengizchevroil LLP, Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP, NCOC company, KPI LLP and Atyrau Thermal Power Plant JSC.
- The automated monitoring system is carried out using a special sensor. We have installed this device inside the pipeline and now we can receive data on the volume of all outgoing emissions. At the same time, it will help prevent emergencies. The sensor contains parameters of nitrogen dioxide and oxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and gas. The project was launched in 2023 and is operating normally," said Maksot Alenov, Head of Atyrau Thermal Power Plant JSC.
It should be noted that Atyrau Thermal Power Plant JSC installed a special sensor on 5 flue and 2 water pipes. Currently, information about them is received in the database of the Department of Ecology of the Atyrau region.
