The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed a draft Government Resolution that provides for the capture of a limited number of rare and endangered fish species and other aquatic animals.
According to the draft, the capture of Caspian seal, Aral pelmai, Aral sablefish, sablefish and Caspian salmon is subject to capture. This measure is aimed at conducting scientific research and carrying out reproduction activities.
The draft resolution was developed taking into account scientific recommendations. The Ministry emphasizes that the capture of fish will be carried out in strictly limited quantities and under the control of the authorized body.
It is expected that the measures taken will help study the distribution status of these species and develop programs for their conservation and restoration.
