INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL EXECUTIVE MBA DOUBLE DIPLOMA PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN ALMATY
A solemn event dedicated to the launch of the international Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) double diploma program was held at Almaty Management University, entitled “Central Asia's Gateway to Global Executive Education: Networking & Reception”.
In his video message, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, noted the importance of strategic partnerships with world universities and leading companies, as well as joint government initiatives that contribute to the creation of a favorable ecosystem for business, innovation, and technological development.
“A vivid example of this is the GEMBA program implemented jointly with Antwerp Management School. "This program, which combines the experience of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Singapore Management University and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and Antwerp Management School, provides students with high-quality education, connecting European, Kazakhstani and international business traditions," the minister noted.
AlmaU developed the GEMBA program in collaboration with Antwerp Management School (Belgium). It is one of the world's leading business schools, included in the TOP-50 best schools according to the Financial Times and has excellent international accreditation indicators (AACSB, AMBA, EFMD).
AlmaU President Asylbek Kozhakhmetov called the launch of the GEMBA program a strategically important step for the development of regional and international leadership:
"This program combines advanced business approaches from Europe, Central Asia, the USA and Singapore. Our graduates will not only receive an MBA, but also a unique international experience that will help them make transformational changes in their companies, industries and the economy as a whole.”
Bart Kambre, Deputy Dean for Research and Implementation at AMS, highlighted the academic traditions of Belgium and spoke about the history of the University of Antwerp and its business school. He noted that Kazakhstan, located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, has great potential for cooperation with China and Russia.
At the end of the event, the ceremony of the official launch of the GEMBA program in Kazakhstan was held. The event was held in the Networking & Reception format, which allowed participants not only to discuss business education trends, but also to participate in strengthening Kazakhstan’s business ties with Belgium, as well as with the European Union as a whole.
