The "Kalkan" winter sports competition for youth has started in Almaty

The event is organized by the Army Central Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense, the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces and the "Young Soldier" Republican Children's and Youth Military-Patriotic Movement.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the Head of the National Military-Patriotic Center Arman Asenov, First Deputy Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops Colonel Almas Isabekov, Director of the Almaty City Department of Education's Physical Culture and Sports Training and Practice Center Bakhtiyar Yelemesov, and Chairman of the "Young Soldier" Military-Patriotic Movement Major Meirbek Mendygaliev participated.
- Winter sports require endurance and skill, strength and agility. I believe that in this competition you will show not only sporting achievements, but also a true example of team spirit and cooperation, - Arman Asenov noted.
According to the rules, the Spartakiad will be held among teenagers aged 14-17. 17 teams of 3 young soldiers from different regions of the country will participate in it.
In the team competition, the winners will be determined by the number of points scored by the athletes
The participants of the competition will also have a cultural and recreational program, including excursions to the sights of Almaty, the evening "Kalkan Flame", a screening of patriotic films, and an introduction to higher military education institutions.
It should be noted that this year the "Young Soldiers" Winter Games are being held for the fourth year in a row. The Kostanay region team won the first "Kalkan" Winter Games. And in the second Winter Games, the North Kazakhstan region became the absolute champion. Last year, the Akmola region team won the cup.
