Ambassador-Designate of Kazakhstan to Hungary Anel Bakytbekkyzy Presents Copies of Credentials

Budapest, 9 September 2026 – Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary Anel Bakytbekkyzy visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, where she presented copies of her Letters of Credence to Chief of Protocol Mariann Szűcs and held a meeting with Gábor Ferenc Nagy, Deputy State Secretary for the Development of Eastern Relations.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the current state and prospects for the further development of Kazakh-Hungarian relations, with particular emphasis on expanding political dialogue, trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties.

The sides highlighted Hungary’s role as one of Kazakhstan’s key strategic partners in Central and Eastern Europe. The Kazakh side reaffirmed its interest in further deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries, implementing mutually beneficial joint projects, and strengthening constructive cooperation within international fora.

The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues and discussed preparations for forthcoming bilateral contacts and visits at the senior and highest levels.

The Ambassador-Designate briefed the Hungarian side on the latest stages in the modernization and renewal of Kazakhstan’s state and political system undertaken at the initiative of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, including the entry into force of the new Constitution, the establishment of the Halyk Kenesy and the office of Vice-President, as well as the elections of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan held on 23 August 2026.

The Hungarian side congratulated A.Bakytbekkyzy on her appointment as Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary and wished her every success in her diplomatic mission. Relations with Kazakhstan are of particular importance to Hungary, rooted both in the historical and cultural affinity between the two peoples and in the strong strategic partnership between the two countries. The Hungarian side also highlighted the pragmatic nature of bilateral relations and expressed its interest in further developing concrete areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, A.Bakytbekkyzy thanked the Hungarian side for the warm welcome and substantive exchange of views, reaffirming her commitment to making every effort to further strengthen the Kazakh-Hungarian strategic partnership and advance the traditional ties of friendship between the two countries.
