The regional akim visited the Active Longevity Center in Kobda as part of his working trip.
The center was launched in 2021. Since then, it has become an indispensable place for the elderly in the village to have a productive vacation. Today, 70 pensioners regularly come here. The oldest of them is 82 years old.
A variety of clubs have been created at the center based on the interests of visitors. There are programs aimed at maintaining physical activity and improving health. They do yoga, play chess, go to creative workshops, draw, and make various crafts. They take Scandinavian walks and hold dance parties. They set a table with various delicacies prepared by themselves and create a chat shop.
Askhat Shakharov talked to regular visitors of the center and asked about their situation.
“Our children call this place “grandmother's kindergarten”. We really like the center. We relax here, talk. While playing sports, we forget about some of the secrets of our health. We try to come every day. The people here have very good relations with each other. They travel together as a group. First, they visited the holy places in the district and the region. Then they went to Turkestan and Almaty. Only here do we understand how to enjoy life in old age,” said one of the visitors to the center, Roza Kairkyzy.
The elderly took advantage of the meeting to tell the regional head that the current facility is small and asked to build an additional building for the center.
“I am very glad that such centers are operating for you in Kobda and other districts. This is a place that provides a wide opportunity for effective recreation and socialization. Now there are many elderly people who even pick up the phone, but it is important to communicate with people, to talk face to face. If you spend your mornings or weekends with your grandchildren, it is better to devote the rest of your time to yourself. We will allocate funds from the budget and build another building next to the center in the future,” the regional akim promised.
