In the Zhetysu region, the provision of buildings with infrastructure for people with disabilities is 69%. This is the highest indicator in the republic. Work in this direction will continue, - the press service of the Zhetysu region akim reports.
According to the regional department for coordination of employment and social programs, 625 facilities in the region will be adapted for the entry and exit of people with disabilities in 2022-2024. This year, it is planned to adapt about 195 facilities of state and private institutions. Budget funds have been provided for state facilities.
In addition, the number of invataxi vehicles has doubled over the past two years. Currently, 32 invataxi vehicles are operating in the region. Funds are allocated annually to provide people with disabilities with the necessary technical devices.
In total, 13 institutions providing special social services to citizens with disabilities operate in the region. Last year, the residence of the district akimat on the banks of the Alakol River was transferred to a rehabilitation camp for disabled children. In 2023, together with the Kamkorlyk Foundation, a center for children with autism and other mental disorders was opened. The Asar rehabilitation center for the disabled operates in Taldykorgan. It receives regular state support. This year, the construction of another 150-seat rehabilitation center will begin in the regional center.
Work on the formation of an inclusive environment in the region is underway in several areas.
