1. 1. Labeling is mandatory for all!

   Every tobacco product must be labeled with a means of identification (two-dimensional barcode), and this requirement applies to all products - both locally produced and imported.

   2. Unlabeled sales are prohibited

   It is illegal to sell tobacco products without means of identification or with labeling violations. This may result in penalties.

   3. Liability for violation

   There are fines for labeling violations:

   - For individuals - up to 50 MRP;

   - For small businesses - up to 150 MRP;

   - For medium-sized businesses - up to 200 MRP;

   - For large companies - up to 500 MRP.

   4. Seizure and destruction of goods.

   Tobacco products that are not labeled in accordance with the law or do not meet the established standards are subject to seizure and destruction in accordance with the procedure established by law.

   5. How to label correctly?

   Manufacturers and importers are required to label products prior to importation or release to the market. Retailers remove goods from circulation by scanning the identifier on the package through the cash register. Data on the identification code is included in the cash register receipt and transmitted to the fiscal data operator.
