In recent years, Kazakhstan has achieved significant success in attracting foreign investments, strengthening the country's position in the international arena. Creating a favorable investment climate and implementing large international projects is one of the main priorities of the state. The adopted measures are aimed at developing infrastructure, supporting strategic economic sectors and increasing the country's competitiveness.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, in his speech emphasized the importance of attracting investments for the country's economic development: "At a time when competition for investments is growing worldwide, making a decision based on the principle of "right here and right now" to attract funds to the country is the most necessary measure."

According to the data of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024 the total flow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in nine months amounted to 12.7 billion US dollars. In addition, according to the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), in 2024, investments in new projects in the amount of 15.7 billion US dollars were attracted in Kazakhstan, which increased by 88% compared to 2023. This accounts for 63% of all investments in the North and Central Asia region.

In 2024, foreign investors implemented 45 projects with a total value of 1.3 billion US dollars, which made it possible to create more than 6 thousand jobs. Important projects include the opening of the $50 million Carlsberg production site, the launch of the first stage of the Zhetisu Tungsten plant for processing tungsten ore with an investment of $450 million and creating more than 1,000 jobs. Also, factories for the production of "WAN SHENG CERAMIC" ceramic tiles and large regional production of "SKODA" and "HONGQI" cars were opened in Kostanay region. The project of the PepsiCo company worth 160 million US dollars is also of special importance in the framework of the support of local agriculture in the Almaty region.

In 2024, a number of documents were signed in the main areas of the economy as part of the visits of the Head of State. The Qatari company "Power International Holding" completed transactions on the purchase of "Tele2", "Altel" and "Bereke Bank". The Arab investor "UCC Holding" is implementing the construction projects of the new compressor station "KS-14", the main gas pipeline "KS-14-Aktobe-Kostanay" and the second line of the main gas pipeline "Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent". These projects are aimed at infrastructure development and strengthening of energy security of the region. In addition, "Baiterek" national management holding, "Hassad Food" and "Tiryaki Agro" signed a memorandum of cooperation on the construction of a grain processing plant in Astana with a design capacity of up to 250 thousand tons of wheat and up to 100 thousand tons of beans. differs.

The Government of Kazakhstan is actively working to eliminate systemic obstacles and create favorable conditions for investors, increasing the transparency of regulatory measures. Taking into account the needs of the regions in key niches with competitive advantages of Kazakhstan, new approaches have been introduced in the field of attracting investments, including a targeted approach based on "ordering investments". With its help, six investment agreements worth 2.3 billion US dollars were signed, and two agreements were signed from the beginning of 2025, and work is ongoing on seven agreements with a total amount of 7.5 billion US dollars. Also, the National Digital Platform was launched, which ensures transparency of investment project implementation monitoring, prompt resolution of issues, and reduction of obstacles for investors.

These achievements testify to Kazakhstan's desire to create a favorable investment climate and strengthen its position as a reliable partner in the international arena.
