This year Nauryz meiramy in Almaty will delight residents and guests of the city with large-scale events where traditions are harmoniously intertwined with modernity.
The main folk festivals, sports competitions, fairs and various activities will unfold at several iconic venues: Kok-Tobe Park, Abai Square, Panfilov Pedestrian Street, Arbat and Astana Square. In addition, festive events will be held in all areas of the metropolis. The city's theaters and circus will prepare charity performances, and both Kazakhstani and foreign stars will perform on the stages of major concert halls. In general, more than 100 different events will be held in Almaty as part of the decade of Nauryznam.
Astana Square
So, on March 21, at 11:00, the main concert "Almaty — in the arms of Nauryz" will take place on Astana Square. The legendary Dos-Muqasan ensemble, Mayra Mukhamedkyzy, Zhanar Aizhanova, Omirkul Ainiyazov, Zhazira Bayyrbekova, Igor Noble, Tolegen Rakhimbayev, the Keshuoi group, Dinaya, AyaFunk and other artists will perform on the stage.
Artists of the Alatau Theater of Traditional Art, soloists of Almaty Auenderi, the Zhana Gasyr theater and the Sazgen Sazy folklore and ethnographic ensemble will also perform for the audience.
In addition, on March 21 and 22, at 18:00, the two-day evening festival Juldyzdy Almaty with the participation of famous performers will be held on Astana Square.
This venue will also host sports games, a craft fair, and family activities. Bright photo zones and art objects will be installed.
Abai Square
From March 21 to March 25, from 10:00 to 16:00, the Nauryz Fest festival, combining cultural heritage and modern technologies, will be held on Abai Square.
Creatively designed yurts will be installed in front of the Palace of the Republic. For example, the Rukhani Mura yurt will feature replicas of instruments played by Abai, Zhambyl and Dina, as well as musical performances. In the Almatyga Sayakhat yurt, guests will be able to see panoramas of the city and its sights in a virtual format. A transformer yurt "Innovatiyalyk kiiz uy" by master Marat Beksultanov will also be erected here, which is assembled in just 20 minutes.
In addition, an altybakan swing will be installed, and coaches will hold folk competitions and various activities. Among the art objects are installations dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly. On the evening of March 21 and 22, concerts with the participation of famous performers will be held on Abai Square.
A large-scale craft fair will be held at this location for several days. Those who wish will be able to observe the work of wood carvers, jewelers, tanners and masters of felt art. Master classes will be held in each yurt, where visitors will try to weave, sculpt pottery, create ornate ornaments and even make national musical instruments.
Robots, kinetic tunnel and virtual avatar
Panfilov's beloved pedestrian street, from Kabanbai Batyr Street to Tole bi Street, will turn into a space of modern technology and cultural immersion. Guests will be greeted by a spectacular arch with LED screens, and a virtual avatar named Galymzhan will tell about the holiday.
Visitors will be able to see themselves in traditional clothes thanks to a multimedia installation, leave congratulations on a digital fountain and immerse themselves in the history of Nauryz through VR experiences: a journey into antiquity, archery competitions and virtual battles.
A kinetic tunnel will appear in the center of the venue, where national patterns will come to life, repeating the movements of the guests. The gastronomic zone will surprise you with robot waiters, a cook and a barista, and the intellectual game "Oh-Duman" will test the knowledge of Almaty residents and guests of the metropolis about Nauryz. The atmosphere will be complemented by a "space yurt", art installations made of recycled materials and a robotics tent designed by Kazakhstani engineers. This site will be open on March 21-22.
Book fair, meetings with writers and national games
From March 21 to March 25, a large–scale book fair "Nauryz toyy - merekem, salt–dasturim - berekem" will be held on Almaty Arbat. Guests will be able to chat with writers and publicists, listen to performances by poets and artists of the traditional genre. A tent will be set up in the center of the pedestrian zone, where workshops, tournaments and demonstrations on national games will be held.
A choir of 5,000 voices will perform Abai's songs
On March 22, at 9:30 a.m., Almaty will host a large-scale choral performance of Abai Kunanbayev's works, dedicated to Nauryz and the 180th anniversary of the great poet. About 5,000 people – famous soloists, artists of the B. Baykadamov State Choral Chapel, students of music schools and residents of the city – will gather along Abai Avenue to perform the legendary songs "Kozimnin Karasy", "Zhelsiz tunde zharyk ai" and "Ayttym salem, Kalamkas".
This performance will become a symbol of renewal and unity, filling the city with an atmosphere of national heritage. The voices of thousands of participants will merge in harmony, creating a vibrant musical canvas reflecting the spiritual power of Kazakh culture. The event will probably enter the Book of Records. Nauryz Fashion Day will be held on Almaty Arbat
On March 18, at 14:30 in Almaty, a large-scale fashion show Nauryz Fashion Day will be held, timed to coincide with the National Clothing Day within the framework of the decade of Nauryznam. Elegant models, participants of the Alemdi Tankaldirgan kazak Azheleri project ("Kazakh Grandmothers who delighted the world"), titled participants and winners of the Miss Kazakhstan project, as well as atelier AtelierRaushan will walk along the red carpet.
It should be noted that the grandmothers, participants of the Nauryz Fashion Day, previously performed in Milan at the opening of fashion week, and now they plan to take part in Fashion Week in New York and Paris.

Mega stars of the Turkic world in Almaty
Famous artists from Turkic-speaking countries will congratulate Almaty residents and guests of the metropolis on Nauryz: on March 22 at 20:00, a grand concert "Mega Stars of the Turkic World" will take place on the stage of the Almaty Arena with the participation of Sadraddin, Mustafa Sandal, Roza Zergerli, Alexey Chumakov, Burak Özçivit and the Tynda Music orchestra.
From March 20 to March 25, musical performances and exhibitions of the city's museums will be held at the metro stations.
