In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the Anti-Corruption Agency is continuously working to recover illegally acquired assets.

The Anti-Corruption Service of Zhambyl region has completed an investigation into a criminal case involving suspected abuse of power by officials of the Service Factory, a branch of Kazakhtelecom JSC which is responsible for managing the national company's real estate portfolio.

The general director and an employee of the branch are suspected of selling an administrative building of the joint-stock company in the city of Taraz to an entrepreneur at a deliberately undervalued price, contrary to the interests of the state. This resulted in damage to the state amounting to over KZT 460 mln.

As a result of the measures taken, the property has been returned to state ownership.

According to Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, other details of the case are not subject to disclosure in the interest of the investigation.

In accordance with subparagraph 1 of paragraph 3 of Article 77 of the Constitution and part 1 of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
