Anti-corruption issues considered in the Akimat of Almaty

An expanded meeting of the city's anti-corruption commission was held in Almaty with the participation of Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev, head of the city's Anti-Corruption Service Arman Rakhimov, as well as heads of law enforcement and government agencies.
The meeting discussed the implementation of recommendations made based on the results of an external analysis of corruption risks in the road industry, as well as the results of anti-corruption compliance services in quasi-public sector organizations. In addition, a report on the activities of the Ethics Council of Almaty was heard at the meeting.
Specific recommendations were given on all the issues raised to strengthen anti-corruption measures.
In the field of road construction and repair, emphasis is placed on strengthening the responsibility of copyright and technical supervision. To this end, relevant proposals on amendments to the legislation have been sent to the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, on behalf of the akim, work on personnel training for compliance services of quasi-governmental companies will be intensified. In this regard, an appropriate work plan for the current year will be developed.
Work will also continue to improve the quality of public services provided and to train civil servants on anti-corruption issues.
As Arman Rakhimov emphasized in his speech, effective anti-corruption requires an integrated approach that includes not only the detection and suppression of offenses, but also preventive work. The key objectives are to develop a compliance system in the quasi-public sector, implement anti-corruption recommendations, and increase transparency.
In turn, the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, stressed that the work aimed at preventing and combating corruption in the local executive body is in the area of special attention of the city's leadership and will continue.
In conclusion, the akims of the districts and the heads of akimat departments were instructed to step up their work and systematically approach the tasks set.
