An inspection by the prosecutor's office of the Shemonaikha district established facts of unjustified overestimation by medical workers of the number of medical services provided to convicts of the Institution №18 of the Department of the Penitentiary System of East Kazakhstan Region.

    In December 2023, during a scheduled visit to the institution, a surgeon examined 15 convicts, however, information about the admission of 160 persons was entered into the record sheet, on the basis of which the doctor was paid a salary of 214 thousand tenge. In fact, according to the approved standards, payment for the admission of 15 patients is 15,252 tenge.

    The number of convicts admitted at the reception was similarly attributed to other doctors - a dermatovenerologist, narcologist, neurologist and psychiatrist.

   As a result, the total amount of overpayments amounted to 1.4 million tenge.

   According to the act of prosecutorial supervision, the illegally paid amount was returned to the budget, and the perpetrators were brought to disciplinary liability.
