Akimat of Karagandy region invites creative and talented residents to participate in the contest on creating symbols of the region.
For more than 20 years, the emblem (logo) designed by Tolegen Abilkasov, a member of the Union of Artists, was used to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the region. According to archival information, his project won the competition. After removing the number 70, this logo began to be used at all meetings and ceremonial events. Now it's time to update it.
The main requirements for the project:
- taking into account the principles of social harmony and strengthening of unity;
- compliance with heraldic standards;
- showing the national traditions, historical, cultural, natural and socio-economic features of the Karaganda region;
- being a unique work that has not been used before; not to violate copyrights and not allow plagiarism.
- the use of national-ethnographic elements (ornaments) is allowed:
- the use of images of the state flag and coat of arms, as well as religious, tribal and pedigree signs is prohibited.
Only citizens of Kazakhstan are allowed to participate. There may be collective works. If the project is created by several individuals, all of them are considered to be its authors.
The principles of development of the project of regional symbols are approved by the order of the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 503-NK of October 30, 2024.
The application for participation in the competition should be submitted in paper and electronic format in Kazakh and Russian languages ​​to the Department of Internal Policy of the Karaganda region at the following address: Karaganda city, Alikhanov St., 13, Cabinet No. 408. Electronic copies should be sent to e.ospanova@karaganda-region.gov.kz, n.zhunisov@karaganda-region.gov.kz.

The deadline for submission is June 12, 2025. Then it was presented to the public for discussion. The project with the most votes will be sent to the expert council under the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In case of a positive conclusion, the emblem will be approved by the regional maslikhat.
