The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan came to the headquarters of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to discuss issues of expanding access to climate finance, accreditation of Kazakhstani organizations and development of sustainable investment mechanisms.

On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held with Henry Gonzalez, Chief Investment Director of GCF. The meeting discussed the issues of accreditation, involvement of the private sector and financing of projects in the fields of adaptation to climate change and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, Kazakhstan is studying the possibility of participating in readiness programs (Readiness Program) to strengthen institutional capacity.

Within the visit, meetings are planned to discuss the agreement on the benefits and immunities of the GCF in Kazakhstan, as well as to work out the mechanisms of sustainable financing of climate initiatives.

Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and the Freedom Bank will attend the talks. in attendance.
