A meeting was held between the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization within the framework of strategic partnership.

The parties discussed the important issues of creating a geo-information system for monitoring and forecasting the spread of locust pests using artificial intelligence technologies. The development of this system is expected to be the main means of combating the threat of locusts, which cause significant damage to agricultural lands.

The participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on the use of modern technologies in the fight against locust pests, considered ways to improve methods of control and management of the spread of these pests.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the FAO confirmed their readiness to jointly continue work aimed at introducing innovative solutions to protect agricultural crops and ensure food security.
