Nowadays, people widely use Internet resources in their daily life, including banking applications and sales websites, and there is an increase in so-called "Internet fraud".

Internet fraud is a type of fraud that is committed using the information system, including all kinds of applications located on the Internet.

The difficulty in detecting such crimes is that the victims do not see the criminals face-to-face, but only in the Internet space. talks. Usually, a fake phone number is used or the IP address is constantly changing. There are different methods of fraud, the main of which can be divided into three types.

The first type: the fraudster calls, pretends to be a security officer of one of the banks (bank manager, bank employee), an employee of a law enforcement agency and informs the interlocutor, where the fraudster asks to provide credit (applying for a loan, etc.) or other information (interest rate on deposits increased, etc.), personal data, bank card details, SMS passwords or requests to download programs for remote access to your mobile phone.

After transferring this information or downloading programs for remote access by transferring the password, the victim is given credits, funds are debited from card accounts.

Remote programs are different, one of them is "Anydesk", by activating which the criminal can have full access to your device. Therefore, NEVER: - do not disclose SMS codes and passwords to anyone, even a bank employee; - Do not share personal information and personal data with third parties (card number, copies and ID number); - Do not pay in advance (try to agree to pay after receiving the goods or services).

If you receive a call from the bank with a request to provide any information, it is recommended to interrupt the conversation and call the official short number of the banks yourself or contact the bank branch.

In another case, criminals sent SMS messages to random numbers about winnings in various promotions of the company and asked to contact them to receive the prize. And when the subscriber called again, citizen "K" offered to top up her phone balance to guarantee receiving the gift. After completing the account, the fraudster disconnected the subscriber's number.

Second: On the Internet, fraudsters publish various unreliable information, including the sale of shares of well-known Kazakhstani corporations, the sale of cars or spare parts for them at discounted prices, the possibility of cashing out purchased goods, the possibility of buying and selling shares through brokerage firms, etc. The victim enters the page by viewing it, leaves a request for contact. After that, fraudsters contact and offer to increase income through brokerage services (trading on the stock exchange, etc.). In this case, the victim takes out a loan on his own or withdraws his savings from his account and transfers money to fraudsters.

Third: if false information about the sale of goods is posted on social networks, the Internet (OLH, Krisha.kz, Kolesa.kz, Instagram, Telegram, etc.), the performance of services, and for reliability, an illusion is created about the existence of a certain online store, opinions of other fake buyers and correspondence with them. by showing the exchange. In this case, the victim himself establishes a connection, buys a product or service, transfers money to the attackers.

Then there are long negotiations on delivery. Fraudsters promise to deliver goods or return money, but disappear without a trace.

For example, citizen "M" posted ads on the "OLX" website about renting non-existent apartments in different cities of the country. After the calls, he asked the "clients" to transfer the advance payment by filling the balance or e-wallet.

Further, the funds were transferred from the balance to the e-wallet, and then they were withdrawn from the ATM as usual. This is just one of the ways. Instead of renting apartments, there can be any goods and services, so if an unfamiliar "seller" asks for an advance payment or transfer of the full amount, then this may be a scam.

Do not transfer money to strangers to receive cash. Avoid taking dubious extra profits and buying goods at falsely low prices. It can also be a scam!
